At most clinics MRI’s can range from $2500 to $8,000. The self pay rate for an MRI scan at Sensible MRI will range from $600 to $850 depending on what specifics the doctor has ordered. Each MRI can be slightly different in what the MRI is looking for and whether contrast material needs to be added.

An MRI can detect certain cancers, brain and spinal cord tumors, nerve damage, injuries and abnormalities of the joints, such as the back and knee. The MRI can also differentiate between fat, water, muscle, and other soft tissues which allows the doctor to give a more accurate analysis of the existing condition

An MRI typically lasts between 15 to 90 minutes depending upon the size of the area being scanned and also the number of images being taken.

Remove all metal from your body (rings, chains, ear rings etc.) and from your clothing & Do not apply make-up, deodorant, perfume, or body lotions before your MRI.( These items can contain metals that might interfere with the magnetic field and distort the image)

In some cases a patient may need Contrast Material. It is a liquid that will be given to you in an IV which is placed in your hand or arm. The contrast material is used to increase the sensitivity to potential abnormalities.
